Re: What are Mandatory attributes, custom attributes,LABEL, read-only attribute ? 1) not per se. Although an administrator might create a trigger that prevents a user e.g. from saving a module unless certain attributes are filled under certain conditions. There is no chance of getting this information without asking the manager of the database, projects and modules 2) a system attribute has its AttrDef's boolean property "system" set to "true". See chapter "Attribute definitions" in DXL manual. 3) get an introduction to DOORS from an experienced user. Get to learn the difference between object attributes and view columns. In view columns you may have a different "label" than the attribute name. whether this is relevant for your needs depends on the program you are trying to implement. 4) Well, partly. Some system attributes like "Last Modified On" can never be changed, see chapter "Attribute definitions", property "useracess", Apart from this, the current user might not have enough access rights to edit a certain attribute. See "canModify(attribute)" in the DXL manual. Then, again, there might be a trigger that prevents you from setting an attribute. For this, again, you have no chance of finding this information apart from talking to the administrators.
In general, it seems you are trying to create a bridge from somewhere to DOORS. You should thouroughly understand the concepts of DOORS before implementing such a bridge.Otherwise, you might get unexpected side effects. |

Re: What are Mandatory attributes, custom attributes,LABEL, read-only attribute ? Mayur Chaudhari - Thu Nov 16 23:59:16 EST 2017 How to create mandatory fields in doors? you should not do that. it does not really fit to the concept of DOORS. And looking again at the DXL manual, I see that it is currently not possible to have a trigger of level "module" and type "save" Look at the post https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=5bc848e4-0f86-4aa9-a555-e95e1bf97a38 for some suggestions.
